Saviours Church

Walls, Gates and Gate Piers. Early C18 and C19. Coursed
squared sandstone and ashlar. Wrought iron. East of the church
are a pair of ashlar gate piers, square in plan with moulded
cornices and ball finials. Ornate wrought iron gates and screen
between, probably by Robert Bakewell. Double gates in the
centre flanked by pilasters and screens. Three overthrows
above. North of the church are another pair of similar gate
piers with C19 wrought iron gates between. Linked by walls of
roughly squared sandstone with steeply chamfered copings,
forming a complete square enclosure.
