Cottage and former outbuilding. Probably late C18-early C19. Walls are plastered
but appear to be a mixture of materials including cob, stone rubble and brick; brick
stacks and chimney shafts; that roof corrugated to the former outbuilding.
2-room plan cottage facing north with central through-passage and end stacks.
Cottage is 2 storeys. Adjoining to left (east) is a single storey block, a former
outbuilding now brought in to domestic use.
Cottage has a nearly symmetrical 2-window front arranged around a central doorway, a
probably late C19 plank door. The windows either side have segmental arched heads
and are 3-light casements without glazing bars. The first floor windows are 2-light
casements with glazing bars and are half dormers with thatch segmental arches over.
There are 2 more casements with glazing bars inthe former outbuilding to left. All
the windows are late C19-early C20. The main roof is hipped to right and gable-ended
to left. The outbuilding is gable-ended.
Interior shows only late C19 and C20 joinery detail and plaster. The structural
timbers are not exposed and the fireplaces are blocked by C20 grates. Roof not
inspected.
The cottage forms part of a group in an attractive hamlet.
