Village hall, formerly a school, originally possibly a barn attached to the
adjacent range of cottages, nos. 14-15 Sowton Lane (q.v.). Possibly C18, much
altered. Random rubble Heavitree stone with brick patching and window surrounds;
hipped thatched roof. Tall single storey.
Front: 3-window range; each window tall, round-headed, of 2 lights, with transom and coarse quatrefoil as head tracery; brick surrounds. High above each window is a little eyebrow eave. Left-hand internal end stack, with tall square-headed window, 2 lights, with transom. Included for group value; it occupies an important site opposite the parish church.
