2 adjoining houses, one build. Early C19, possibly a remodelling of an earlier
house. Whitewashed and rendered; red pantile roof, hipped at the left end, gabled at
the right end; axial stack to left of centre, right end stack.
Plan: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3:2 window front with regular fenestration. C19
panelled front doors, the top panels glazed. Brookside (to the left) with a gabled
porch, Brookside Cottage with a sloping porch canopy. 3 C19 ground floor 16-pane
timber sashes, 5 similar first floor sashes except for a 12-pane sash above the front
door to Brookside. The right return of the range (facing Pitt Hill) has two 1-light
C20 windows and one 2-light C19 casement with glazing bars.
Interior: Not inspected, but may be of interest. In a prominent position facing the
church, group value with the church, school and Court Hall.
