Lower Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. Probably C16 and early C18 with C19 additions. Stone rubble.
Heightened thatched roof with gabled ends. Lower south-west end, probably formerly
the byre, has hipped thatched roof, and is now part of the house. Late C19 addition
at north-east end has shingle roof. Two storeys. Three bays, plus two and one bay
additions. Two and three light casements with glazing bars. Central panelled door
with modern gabled porch. Brick ridge chimney stack off centre and another stack at
north-east gable end.
Interior: heavy chamfered fireplace bressummer in south-west end.
