Probably mid C19 block facing the north side of the Church. Ground floor
of rusticated stone, painted, with a cornice/stringcourse and two upper storeys
roughcast. Canted angle has Victorian doorway and an oriel window above
it. Moulded eaves on wooden brackets. Two Victorian doorways with cornices
and 2 Victorian shop fronts. First floor has sash windows with cornices,
and iron rails to projecting moulded sills. Top floor plain sashes.
No 1 (formerly premises occupied by Hairdresser, Old Kirk Cafe, Old Curio Shop),
Stags Head Inn and Rose Cottage form an important village centre group
with Parish Church of St Martin, Lake Road, White House, Robinson Place,
New Hall Inn with attached buildings to south Lowside, and Fold Head,
Fallbarrow Road.
