Early to mid C17 timber framed former farm house, roughcast brick and wattle and
daub infill. 2 storeys with thatched roof, hipped gable ends. The western end is
a recent addition. 3 "eyebrowed" 1st floor casements of 3 small lights each - 4
three light casements on ground floor. Modern gabled thatched porch. Plain door
in reeded architrave case with corner blocks, early C19. External brick chimney
stack to east end. Interior has exposed beams, most added, to both rooms either
side of central chimney stack. Originally the staircase went up the side of the latter
but the present stair climbs straight up from the eastern ground floor room. On
this eastern wall is a stud with the date 1641 and initials A H V carved on it.
On 1st floor the roof structure is largely exposed with butt purlins, wind braces
and wedge piece - collars exposed in western 1st floor room on original outer wall.
Some C18 glass panes and leaded casement to rear 1st floor windows.
