Inn, early C16. Jettied, close-studded timber frame with rear
outshut. C19 alterations to street facade. Plain tile roof.
Three C19 red brick stacks. Two storeys. Three unit plan with
additional bay to east. Jetty masked by C19 closed porch
rendered brick, with shaped gable, two canted bay windows and
two casement windows. Six first floor early C19 casement
windows with cast iron glazing bars, some with Gothic patterned
heads. Wide arch to recessed porch to east constructed from
re-used carved late C15 timber, two posts have carved
pilasters. Interior has large open hearth to the hall backed by
a later C17 hearth heating the parlour. C17 hearth to service
end with early C16 floor frame partly rebuilt in C17. Very fine
roll moulded beams and joists to hall and parlour floors with
run out stops. Wall paintings in first floor room.
