Cottage of original lobby entry plan, mid C17, extended by one
bay to the south in late C18. Timber framed, plaster rendered
with steeply pitched roof of reed thatch, now covered with
corrugated iron. Ridge stack of yellow gault brick with an end
stack to C18 extension. One storey and attic. Three gabled
dormers. Three windows and doors, all C20. Late C18 extension
of brick, English bond. At the rear is another wing, also
probably late C18. Brick with pantiled roof. Probably a
service wing with granary in gable. Interior. Floor framing
visible, showing some reused early C16 joists. The roof is of
side purlin construction with plaster torching to the underside
of the thatch. In the C18 extension there is raised and fielded
panelling and shaped shelving to two cupboards on either side of
the hearth.
