Early C19 house, originally 'The Bird in Hand' public house
(brewery associated with inn in Barton Road). Two storeys with
basement. Red brick, yellow gault brick street facade, slate
roof, end stacks. Stone copings to parapet. Three first floor
hung sash windows in recessed segmental arches with stone
cills. Plaster band between floors. Large three-light hung
sash window with segmetnal arch to left hand of doorway. Plain
wooden doorcase, recessed six-panelled door. Hung sash window
to right hand.
