Cottage, formerly public house. C18, extended C19 and C20. Timber framed,
rendered and long straw thatch roof, half-hipped to left hand end. Ridge
stack of red brick and two flues. Single range two bay and lobby entry
plan. One storey and attic. Two original dormers to front and one late C20
dormer at rear. Two small casements on either side of doorway to lobby
entry. Early C19 addition of clay bat on brick plinth. Thatched. Used as a
cellar when the cottage wasa beer house. Inside: Abutting inglenook hearths
of soft red brick. One originally with a bread oven, and both with salt
ledges. Framing exposed of varied scantling with straight bracing. The
floor to the end bay is modern. In the garden is a C19 timber framed and a
long straw thatch barn. Two bays.
