Cottage, converted to two dwellings. c.1500 with early C17 and C19
alterations. Timber-framed and plastered; thatched roofs with plain tiled
gabled dormer window and surrounding main roof. C19 gault brick ridge stack
in angle C20 brick plinth. One storey and attic original two bayed
aisled hall; two storeyed two bayed cross wing to left hand. Two entrances
with plank doors, entrance to cross wing with cambered head. Cross wing with
solid curved jetty brackets and exposed joists, remains of original window
below oriel. Five windows of various sizes with glazing bars include large
oriel window to hall range. One first floor three light casement window and
one casement dormer window. Interior: Open hall with tie beam and arcade
plates arch braced to posts of rough unchamfered timber; inserted C17 floor
with ogee-stop-chamfers. Cross wing crown post roof with cambered tie beams
originally braced to jowelled posts; evidence for first floor gable window.
