5/74 The Royal Hotel

GV II

Hotel late C18 with later alterations, brown brick slate roof. 2½
storeys 3 bays with 7 bay return east. Porch supported by Tuscan
timber columns and six panel door. Windows to this elevation mainly
sash. Rounded stone dressed quoin to the east return. The long east
elevation has a sealed up opening with Tuscan columns supporting an
open pediment. Further north there is a row of five ground floor
windows with rounded heads and keystones separated by rusticated
piers. First floor windows on this elevation are sash and have
external shutters.
