Farmhouse. Dated 1744. Red Flemish bond brick with a plain tile
roof. Two storeys with attic. Entrance front: four bays with a band
of 2 bricks depth between the ground and first floors and a dentilled
band to the eaves. Doorway at right of centre with a C19 plank door
and plain surround. To left of this are two 3-light C19 casement
windows with cambered heads and to right is one similar window and at
far right is a blocked window of similar form. To the first floor are
similar window openings, that at far right being open. Above the
doorway is a rectangular datestone which has an incised heart to the
top below which are the initials R.L. and the date. This has a
surround of moulded brick and alternately projecting bricks to the
sides with a pediment above. To the attic are three gabled dormer
windows of C19 date. Ridge chimney stacks at right of centre and to
the right hand gable-end. To left of this range and slightly recessed
is the gable-end of a range of farmbuildings which has cambered-headed
window openings to each floor and a band of 2 bricks depth between
these floors. This range continues, forming an open courtyard. The
right hand end is pebbledashed and has two gables, that at right being
of C19 date.
Interior: Chamfered ceiling beams to two ground floor rooms and a
staircase, removed from its original position, with square newel post
and splat balusters with mouldings on the slope.
