GV II

Formerly farmhouse now hostel: late C18 with addition to right dated
1850 and C20 alterations. Coursed squared buff sandstone rubble.
Kerridge stone-slate roof, stone ridge and 4 stone chimneys. Double
pile plan of 2 parallel ridges. Original farmhouse has 2-storey,
symmetrical 3-bay front. End bays have tripartite sashes with glazing
bars, under rough stone lintels and central bay has primitive doorcase
with C20 glazed door. 2-bay extension has sympathetic windows. Rear
of extension is a laithe with the cart entrance under an elliptical
arch with JUG 1850 on keystone. Door to right and 2 circular pitch
holes above. External stone stairs on gable end.
