Farmhouse, possibly with C17 origins, remodelled in circa 1760's. Rubble stone
partly slate hung to rear. Slate roof, bituminous coated, hipped on left and gable
end to right. Half hip to rear projecting wing. Gable end to lower kitchen wing on
right-hand end with catslide roof to rear.
Main range with adjoining wing on right. 2 rear wings form an asymmetrical 'U'
shaped plan with staircase wing on (rear) south-west and shorter projecting wing on
(rear) south-east.
2 storeys and attic. Regular 4 window front with crown glass. Ground floor
with three 12-pane sashes without horns. Gable ended rendered porch to left of
centre. First floor with four 12-pane sashes without horns. Dentilled cornice with
2 small full hipped dormers, each 2-light casements.
Kitchen wing set back to right, 2 storeys. Ground floor with 2-light casement
with glazing bars and fixed light above and partly glazed door to right. Tripartite
window above with glazing bars.
On left-hand end, partly slate hung with circa mid-C20 canted bay window also
slate hung.
Main staircase, open string with Chinese Chippendale balustrade with handrails
ramped at corners. In attic, reused C17 oak screen with ovolo moulded muntins, top
rail and moulded horizontal rails. Roof timbers to rear projecting wing with
cambered chamfered collars, slightly trenched purlins and notches on principals
which continue into side of wall plate. 2 doors on ground floor and first floor
with vertical panels, moulded rails and ornate strap hinges. Ceiling beams in
kitchen wing, chamfered with ogee stops.
