Headstone with sarcophagus and footstone. Early C19. Limestone. Neo-Greek style.
Headstone has segmental head, with shaped shoulders; carved mourning female and tomb
in relief, with swagged border, raised panel with triangular top for inscription. To
John Smith, late Purser in the Royal Navy, 1806 and other members of the family.
Coffin-shaped sarcophagus about 15 centimetres high. Footstone with eared segmental
head with initials J.S. 1806 and EI 1860.
