Inn. C17 or earlier. Stone and cob with wooden lintels and thatched roof. 2 room
plan with outshut to rear and extension to lower end at slight angle. Long low 2
storey front sloping down to left. 2 windows, door off centre to right. Window
openings are irregularly spaced and at different levels. Ventilator window with
vertical bars to serve under stair pantry. Window near door to right used to be
wider (internal recess). Horizontally sliding sash over. Other windows are 2 light
casements with glazing bars. Rounded corner to right. Extension to lower end left
has ground floor doorway (now window) and C20 window insertion over. Lateral brick
topped lateral stack to rear of upper end. Interior has open beamed ceilings and
old roof structure over. Said to have been used as Fairfax's headquarters during
the Civil War (Battle of Tresillian).
