Public house. Probably C18 extended in the C19. Painted rubble and cob walls, slate
sills, chamfered wooden lintels. Wheat reed thatched roof with brick chimneys over
gable ends.
L-shaped plan since the C19 when the original 2-room house was extended at right
angles to the left-hand side of the front; further remodelled in the C20.
2 storeys. Originally probably symmetrical 3-window east front with central doorway.
Left-hand ground floor window altered to 2 doorways when C19 service wing over
basement was added in front. Main doorway altered to window and new doorway cut in
the gable end, right, probably at the same time. Ground floor windows are 12-pane 2-
light casements with internal shutters. First floor windows are circa late C18 early
C19 12-pane horizontal sliding sashes. C20 canopy below sill level.
Interior remodelled as 1 room but retaining moulded ceiling beams; and probably
original roof structure, not inspected.
