9/212 Bank barn and adjoining piggery

Bank barn and piggery. Circa mid and late C19. Killas rubble with granite
dressings. Scantle slate hipped roof over the barn, corrugated asbestos roof with
gable end over the piggery.
Plan: Overall L-shaped plan. Barn is probably granary over stables with opposing
loading/winnowing doorways to first floor. Built into a high bank at the rear.
Piggery adjoins at right angles in front of the left-hand side and has 3 doorways in
its right-hand front wall and 3 feeding hatches with dressed granite troughs in its
left-hand (rear) wall. There is a later-Cl9 lean-to at the right-hand end of the
barn.
Exterior: 2 storeys (barn). West-south-west front of barn has nearly symmetrical
arrangement of doorways and windows towards its right-hand side. There are 2
doorways and 2 windows on their left and right on the ground floor; a doorway (midway
between ground floor doorways) to the first floor and a window over the right-hand
window. Old ledged doors and old windows. Piggery has some original shutters to
feeding hatches.
Interior: Original floor and roof structures. Piggery has its original slate
partitions and feeding hatches.
