5/184 Pendavy Farmhouse
- II
Farmhouse. Circa early to mid C17 extended in late C19 to early C20. Granite
rubble, rendered on front range. Rag slate roof with gable ends and parallel range
to rear, also with gable ends. Large stone rubble end stacks, the right hand stack
projecting. Projecting end stack on left hand gable end of rear range.
Plan: House of 2 room and through passage plan, heated by end stacks. The ground
slopes down gently to the left with the hall/kitchen on the higher side to right. In
circa late C19 or early C20 a further range of 2-room plan was added to rear, heated
by end stacks, probably accommodating service rooms.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Almost symmetrical 3 window front. Early C20 porch near
centre, glazed on brick base. Circa late C19 or early C20 4-pane sashes on ground
and first floor. Straight joint in front wall near left hand gable end possibly
suggesting earlier blocked opening. Rear elevation circa late C19 or early C20 range
with horned sashes.
Interior: not accessible.
