House. Possibly early C18; remodelled circa mid C19 with some C20 alterations.
Stone rubble with granite dressings. Bitumenised slate roof with ridge tiles and
gable ends. Gable end stack to right with brick shaft.
Plan: 2-room plan, with one room to front and rear to right, and the entrance to
left. The rooms to right are heated from the gable end stack. At the left side of
the front there is a doorway leading to an open passage which runs along the left
side of the house. The room at first floor over the passage belongs to the adjoining
house to left, Godfrey's (q.v.).
Exterior: 2 storeys, nearly symmetrical 2-window front. Ground floor has the
passage doorway to left with flat granite arch and voussoirs. To right there is a
C20 half-glazed door with overlight and C19 16-pane sash, with flat arches and
voussoirs. First floor has two C19 16-pane sashes, also with flat arches and
voussoirs. At the left side, inside the passage, there is a 4-panelled C20 door with
overlight; the passage has weatherboarded sides. The rear of the main house has C20
2-light casement at ground floor, with a chamfered timber lintel which is carried
over the window and across the entrance to the passage.
