Conservative club, possibly originally a house. Circa mid C19, with few later
alterations. Stuccoed stone rubble. Hipped slate roof behind parapet.
Plan: Double depth plan, with large room to front right and entrance hall to front
left in a bay slightly set back to left.
Exterior: 3 storeys, nearly symmetrical front of 4 bays, with the bay to left
slightly set back; on chamfered plinth with rusticated quoins and cornice; the
parapet stepped up,at the centre with applied lettering in upper case: CONSERVATIVE
CLUB. Ground floor has three 12-pane sashes of C19 divided by rusticated pilasters,
C19 6-panelled door with overlight and pilasters to left and cornice overall. First
floor has four 12-pane sashes in plain raised architraves with cornices. Second
floor has 4 similar 12-pane sashes without cornices. Right side has three 12-pane
sashes at first and second floors. Ground floor has 12-pane sash, blind window and
blocked door. Late C19 2-storey wing to right with door and C20 window at ground
floor, C20 window at first floor.
Interior: Not inspected but may retain good features of the C19.
