School, now used as offices. Late C19. Probably by Silvanus Trevail. Squared
granite rubble with granite dressings. Slate roof with crested ridge tiles and gable
ends.
Plan: The main range contains the school hall, with entrance at the left side and a
shallow wing to front left and right. The wing to left contains a schoolmaster's
house. Gothic style.
Exterior: Single storey building; the schoolmasters house to left is 2-storey; on
chamfered plinth; 1:3:1:3:1 bays. The end bays to right and left are shallow gabled
wings. The central bays is gabled with buttressed and paired lancets with transoms
and hood mould; recessed quatrefoil above. To right there are 3 plate-glass sashes
with shouldered arches, 2 similar sashes to left and a shouldered arched doorway to
the house. The 2-storey wing to right has a triple lancet with the central light
taller, with transom and hood mould, breather above in the gable. The wing to left
has paired plate-glass sashes with shouldered arches at ground floor, paired plate-
glass sashes with 2-centred arches and relieving arches at first floor, with breather
above. At the left side, the wing of the house projects to left, with a gable end,
similar paired sashes at ground and first floor and breather above. 2-storey porch
set in the angle to the main range, open at ground floor with shouldered arched
doorway, door with overlight. Paired plate-glass sashes above; the porch is slate-
hung at first floor with a hipped roof. To right in the main range there are paired
sashes at ground and first floor. At the right side, there is a C20 door with
bellcote over; wing to right with shouldered arched doorway.
