Farmhouse, now 2 houses. Mid - late C18, enlarged mid - late C19 with few later
alterations. Slatestone and granite rubble with granite and brick dressings. Slate
and asbestos slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end and axial stacks
with rebuilt brick shafts.
Plan: Double depth plan with central entrance and principal room to front left and
right. Service rooms including kitchen and dairy to rear. At the left end, a one-
room plan addition was made circa mid - late C19, heated from a gable end stack to
left.
Exterior: The original building has a symmetrical 2 storey 3-window front. Ground
floor has C20 porch with pitched roof and C20 internal door. C18 12-pane sash with
sidelights and cambered arch to right and left at ground and first floor. First
floor has central 12-pane sash. Moulded eaves cornice. Straight masonry joint in
the front wall to the addition to left, with similar but C19 12-pane sash with
sidelights and cambered arch at ground and first floor. The right side is rendered
with a single ventilator window at ground and first floor to right. The left side is
blind, in rubble. At the rear, the service rooms have random fenestration; first
floor has three 12-pane sashes with cambered brick arches and one single light.
Ground floor has 2-light casement and 2 C20 windows and door. C20 lean-to to left of
single storey and attached cast iron pump with handle and fluted finial.
Interior: The entrance hall astraight stair at the rear with turned balusters. The
front right room has cupboard with scalloped decoration to rear. Plain plaster
cornices and 6-panelled doors. There are 2 dairies to rear with slate floors and
shelves.
