Farmhouse. Mid - late C17. Additions and alterations of circa mid C19 with few
later alterations. Painted stone rubble. Slate roof with ridge tiles and gable
ends. Gable end stack to right with large rubble shaft and slate weathering; gable
end stack to left with brick shaft.
Plan: 2-room and through passage plan, each room heated from a gable end stack. In
C19 a rear wing was added to right, of one-room plan, heated from a gable end stack.
Exterior: 2 storeys and 3 windows, all C19, nearly symmetrical front. First floor
has three 4-pane sashes of C19 with timber lintels. Ground floor has central half-
glazed door, 4-pane sash to left and paired 4-pane sash to right. Central gabled
dormer with 4-pane sash. Right gable end blind, with buttress. The C19 wing has 5-
light window at ground floor and C20 door, 3-light window and 4-pane sash at first
floor with triangular brick heads. C20 glazed porch set in the angle to the main
house. The rear gable end of the wing has 4-pane sash at first floor to right. The
left end of the main range is blind, rendered. The rear of the main range has plate-
glass sash at ground and first floor to right. There is a projection in the wall
which may possibly be the site of an early rear lateral stack. Single storey C19
rubble lean-to conceals the position of a rear passage doorway, and has a 2-light
window. 4-pane sash above at first floor and gabled dormer with 4-pane sash. The
inner side of the rear wing has 4-light window and blocked door, both with triangular
brick heads.
Interior: The central passage and the room to left are now all one room. C19 beams,
and gable end fireplace with C20 chimneypieces. Rest of interior not accessible.
