10 houses forming a terrace. Early C19, built in blocks of different date. Nos
5-8 appear to be earliest, of English garden wall bond brickwork on chamfered
plinth. Nos 2-4 are of coursed red sandstone rubble on chamfered plinth and Nos
9-11 of incised stucco. Common greenslate roof repaired with Welsh slate
(except Nos 10-11 with higher Welsh slate roof). Brick chimney stacks. 2
storeys. Earlier houses, single-bay, later houses of 2 bays. C20 and panelled
doors in various surrounds, some under console bracketed cornices. 2-pane sash
windows, No. 7 with glazing bars, all in painted stone surrounds. Nos 10 and 11
have ground floor tripartite sash windows. Nos 5, 6 and 8 have rails around
cellar windows. Large through carriage passage with quoined segmental arch
between Nos 4 and 5. Name derives from the Proctor's Office which was in the
row. Has G.V. with Church of St Mary.
