Farmhouse and adjoining former house and barn. Dated inside 1649, 1666 and 1667
with alterations dated 1835. Painted roughcast walls on large projecting plinth
stones. Graduated greenslate roof with C19 stone chimney stacks covered with
slate cowling. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Former house to right of 5 bays and barn to
left, all under common roof. C20 doors and sash windows in C19 painted stone
surrounds. Former house has small ground-floor openings and upper-floor blocked
stone-mullioned windows, those at ends small fire windows. Barn has plank doors
in projecting cart entrance. Interior of house has carved and panelled court
cupboard built into principal room, dated and inscribed TB, WB 1667. Beamed
ceilings in both ground floor rooms, one dated and inscribed TBM, M20 1666 WB.
Recess in room to right has lintel dated 1649 and date of 1835 carved on exposed
beam, thought by owner to be the date of alterations. C20 extension to front of
barn is not of interest.
