Originally a goods shed, part of mid C19 terminus to Alston branch of Newcastle
and Carlisle Railway. Squared, snecked rubble with stepped diagonal buttressing
in ashlar. Hipped welsh slate roof. Single storey, now (1983) floored internally;
3 bays. Train arch to north and south walls now blocked; 2 similar arches in east
wall gave access to platform for goods wagons. 3 fixed windows on west side.
Later additions at south end not included.
