Milestone, early C19 for Alston Turnpike Trust. Single stone c2 it high by c1½
ft wide with elliptical top; painted white with partly damaged carved Roman
lettering on front face picked out in black: TO ALSTON 7 MILES, MIDD(LETON) 15
M(ILES).
