Coach house and stables for Salkeld Hall, now 2 flats over garage and stables.
Probably 1836 for the Hodgson family with C20 alterations. Dressed red
sandstone walls with V-jointed quoins, under graduated greenslate roof with
candlestick chimney stacks. Central 2 1/2-storey pedimented archway with left
3-bay coach house with flat above;and right 4-bay former stables with The
Hayloft flat above. Central round-headed through archway under sash window with
glazing bars and round-headed attic window. Left Coach house has round-headed
carriage arch, now used as garage, under sash windows with glazing bars.
Stables have doorways and sash windows, some in C20 surrounds in keeping with
the originals. Listed for group value with Salkeld Hall.
