Beaford Bridge
GV
II
Bridge. Probably mid C19. Roughly squared sandstone with some ashlar dressings. Parapets with rounded granite copings. Slightly cambered, over three segmental arches with ashlar voussoirs. Battered piers with triangular cutwaters, and battered abutments. Each parapet has flat string course and rounded coping, and curves out over wider abutments at the approaches.
The bridge carried the Beaford-Merton road over the River Torridge, which forms the
parish boundary at this point.
