House formerly rectory. Circa mid C19. Rendered walls. Gable ended slate
roof with moulded coping stones and shaped kneelers to the gables with
small brackets to the eaves. 2 truncated rendered gable end stacks
slightly projecting with weatnered set-offs and one axial to rear wing.
Plan: 2 principal rooms facing garden front with entrance behind and
stairs in small wing parallel to front; service wing to rear of right-
hand end. Tudor Gothic style.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window garden front with 3 windows on
the first floor in chamfered openings; 2-light sashes to rignt and left
and narrow single-light sash at the centre, all in ovolo-moulded frames.
On the ground floor are 2 windows in slightly projecting bays with
chamfered corners and moulded cornices; they have 3-light ovolo-moulded
wooden mullions with high transoms. A weathered string course at first
floor level breaks forward around the bays and continues around the
other elevations. Entrance in right-hand side wall has moulded 4-centred
stone doorway with glazed double doors. 2-light C19 sash under gable
above doorway. 2 window rear service wing to the right.
Interior: appears to have fairly complete C19 joinery including a
staircase with chamfered stick balusters and square newels with ball
finials.
To include elaborate tall wrought iron gates to courtyard on south-west
side of house.
