House. Circa early C17 with C20 renovations. Colourwashed rendered stone rubble and
cob with thatched roof hipped at ends, rendered stack at left end, lateral projecting
stack with set-offs at rear. Single depth, some evidence of a 2-room and through
passage plan, the hall heated from the lateral stack. C19 stair inserted in the
passage and the lower end rebuilt. 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3-window front with a
gabled thatched glazed porch on the front at the left. The original entrance to the
passage may have been to the right of the porch. C20 fenestration with 2-light
casements with diagonal leaded panes, embrasures altered. C20 French window on front
at right. A change in plane at the rear probably marks the division between the
former passage and lower end. 2 C20 rear additions.
Interior Hall fireplace reduced in size with new lintel, earlier lintel may exist
above. Principal rafters visible in first floor rooms appear to be straight. Forms
part of a good group with the church (qv) and Shepherds (qv).
