Farmhouse. Early C18, possibly incorporating earlier building, mid C19 2-storey
addition to rear left, probably C19 1½-storey outhouse attached to rear right,
house extended by 2 bays to front right early C20 in same style. Rubble, with
large quoins in granite, slate-hung, rear rendered. Steeply pitched slate pitched
slate hipped roof with lead rolls to the hips and roof, sprocketed eaves breaking
forward slightly over corners with moulded timber eaves cornice. Rendered stacks
to right side of C20 and to rear.
Double depth plan, with central entrance to hall with stair to rear left, principal
rooms to right and left front. C19 2-storey addition to rear left forms parallel
wing projecting to left, outhouse attached to rear right is extended to form L-
plan, enclosing small courtyard to rear. 2 bays added to front right in early
C20.
2 storeys, 5 bays to left of original house and 2 wider spaced bays to right, all
12-pane sashes with segmental heads in exposed boxes, windows in 2 bays to left
have early C18 thick glazing bars remaining. In centre of 5 bays, porch with hipped
roof, round-headed double doors, half-glazed, in brick surround, probably rebuilt
in early C20, with inner 6-panelled doors. At ground floor to right a square bay
with hipped roof to right a square bay with hipped roof and two 8-pane sashes with
sidelights. Slatehanging broken forward as string course. Left gable end has
ground floor and first floor C20 window to ieft. Rear wing projecting to left
has C20 French window and 2-light casement at first floor, rear of wing has 2
windows at each storeys, all C20, heated by gable end stack to inner rear side.
Right gable end has external stack to left and 2 windows, all 12-pane sashes,
asbestos slates to hipped roof end. Rear of main range rendered, door to left
of rear wing, with sash with thick glazing bars lighting stair above, stonework
above which might be remains of early stringcourse. Roof over 2 C20 bays hipped
to rear. 1½-storey outhouse attached to left with hipped slate roof and attached
single storey addition to end with corrugated iron roof, rear-of outhouse has 2
doors with timber lintels and small brick stack to outer corner. To left at first
floor, main range has 2 small 4-pane lights and small single light, single storey
lean-to at base of external stack.
