The Gleanings

Former coachhouse, stables, servants' accommodation and services
to No 58, St Margaret's Street (The Gleanings, qv), now four
separate dwellings. Circa 1800. Gault brick; Kent tile and
Welsh slate hipped roofs. The former stables, 2 storeys; front
(towards street): regular 3 window range; parapet with stone
coping; plat band between storeys. Upper windows (12-pane horned
sashes in reveals) under elliptical arches themselves set within
elliptically-headed recesses. Ground floor windows (with glazing
bars with round-headed arches similarly placed under round-headed
recesses linked by impost band. Returned elevation with no
parapet; new window insertions. The services now a 5-window
range under coped parapet, the 3 windows to right forming a
shallow wing; modern 16-pane sashes in reveals under flat window
arches. All ranges (except that facing St Margaret's Street)
included for group value.
