Wrongly shown on OS map as nos. 1 and 3. Terrace of 4 cottages, now 3. C18 or
earlier, altered in C19. Timber framed, plastered, pebble-dashed and
weatherboarded, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. Single span range facing
S, with 2 axial stacks, and 4 C19 rear extensions. Further single-storey rear
extension with 2 axial stacks, roofed with red clay pantiles. One storey with
attics. Ground floor, at left end, C19 shop window standing slightly forward,
with slate lean-to roof, converted to domestic use; one early C19 sash of 12
lights and 2 of 16 lights. 4 C19 casements in slated lean-to dormers. C19
half-glazed door to fonner shop, 3 C19 flush 4-panel doors, of which one has a
simple architrave and moulded canopy, the others with simple canopies on
profiled brackets. Gambrel roof, half-hipped at both ends. Front elevation
plastered, right return weatherboarded, left return and rear pebble-dashed. The
4 rear wings have half-hipped gambrel roofs; each has in the rear elevation a
C19 horizontal sash of 16 lights on the first floor. RCHM 10.
