Farmhouse. Cl7 considerably remodelled in early C19. Plastered rubble walls,
possibly incorporating some cob. Thatch roof gabled to left end and hipped to
right. 2 brick stacks, one axial and one at left gable end.
Plan: 3-room plan with entrance stairhall which may have been inserted in early
C19 and passage running behind central room which certainly was. An axial stack
serves both the central room and the right-hand room.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 5 window front of complete early C19 20-pane
hornless sashes. Contemporary 6-panel door to left of centre behind simple open-
fronted timber porch. Lower C19 service building addition at right-hand end
connects house to small 2 storey C19 outbuilding with hipped roof and 1 window on
each floor.
Interior: Any surviving early features concealed by early C19 remodelling, and
the house has very complete joinery of this period including staircase, shutters,
doors, etc.
This is a very attractive traditional farmhouse which is remarkably untouched by
alterations in this century.
