Public house, formerly church house. C16 or earlier, much altered and remodel-
led in early Cl9 with Gothick style fenestration. Stuccoed stone rubble. Low
pitched slate roof with gabled ends and large two storey lean-to either end.
Two storeys. Four window front, the end windows in the lean-to. Unusual
concave pointed arch (tented) windows with sashes of same shape complete with
glazing bars and narrow margin panes. Later boarded shutters. At centre a
medieval chamfered pointed arch stone doorway set back behind the early C19
facade. Similar doorway opposite at rear. Old plank door survives at the
front. C20 pointed arch doorway to right. Small C19 shop front to left.
Rendered chimney stacks at gable ends. Interior much altered. The cross-
passage partitions have been removed and the ceiling beams have been either
taken out or concealed.
