Village cross; steps, plinth and pedestal C15, shaft and cross-head dated
1891 Ashlar. Square 2 step base, lower step with recessed fascia and chamfered
nosing. Above is a chamfered square plinth on which rests an octagonal shaft-
pedestal with broach stops between which are traces of carving. Shaft has
corner standards. Head has crocketted finials and niches with a carved crucifixion
and other biblical scenes. Scheduled as an ancient monument (Dorset no. 266).
