Late C18 to early to mid C19 probably. 2 storeys and attic, 2 window front.
Low stone cottage with 3-light wood casements and trellis porch. 4-panelled
door with upper 2 panels glazed. Wall of stone rubble with coping projects
forward from front angle of left hand return as far as low panelled pier
with peaked capping; from there, low ashlar dwarf wall and railings run
south as far as a stone pier adjoining premises occupied by Hincanton Transport
and Engineering Co Ltd. Railings have uprights with spiked finials; standards
with coved finials; gate.
Nos 1 to 8 (consec), Duck House including garden wall and railings, Gainsborough
House including Dwarf wall, railings and gate, outbuilding to south of
Gainsborough House, gate piers to the Old Bidewell, The Antique Shop, Lodbourne
Hall, Ye Olde Cottage including garden walls and railings form a group.
