Appears to be of late C16 or early C17 origin. Purbeck Stone walls. Purbeck Stone
roof. Stone stacks - rebuilt. The original building consists of a house part of
one room on ground, first and attic floors, with an attached outbuilding, recently
used as a stables, continuous with the house, ie. of longhouse or laithe-house form.
The loft over the stable now converted to a flat. To the rear of the original house
was added a 2-storeyed kitchen wing, late C17 to early C18, also with Purbeck Stone
walls and roof. Two-storeyed C19 addition to the west, with rendered walls and
slate roof. Modern addition to east, with Purbeck Stone walls and roof. Glazed
conservatory on south. Other later lean-to additions with rendered walls and slate
roofs. All external doors and windows are modern. Internally, the main ground floor
room has an open fireplace with oak lintel and bread oven, and exposed ceiling beams.
Ground floor rooms have stone flagged floors and early ledged doors. Stone barn,
north of the house. C19, Purbeck Stone walls, slate roof, with coped gables. The
other farm buildings recent or much altered and not listable.
