GV II

Farmhouse. C17 origin, enlarged in C18 and C19. Rubble stone walls, stone slate
roofs, stone stacks with moulded caps. Irregular T-shaped plan. Main front range
has C19 lean-to addition on right. Projecting in front of this a single-storey
block which appears contemporary with the house - a separate dairy or bakehouse.
Left of this a C18 2-storeyed gabled wing. Rear wing extended in C18 at a lower
level, and beyond this a C18 lean-to extension. Main house of 2 storeys and attics.
On main front elevation the original 4-centred arched doorway now hidden by later
extension. Right of this is a ledged door, and other in an altered mullioned
window opening. Ground floor has one round-headed window and one casement window
with glazing bars. First floor has 2 round-headed windows, one part-blocked window
with lead lights and one loft door. Projecting wing at right end has one round-
arched window on ground floor. Internally several 4-centred arched doorways.
Ground floor rooms have some chamfered ceiling beams. 3 large open fireplaces -
that in the dairy with cambered lintol. Dry stone boundary wall in front of main
