Range of outbuildings. Probably C18. Roughcast and painted sandstone rubble
with dressed quoins; moderately-pitched pantiled roofs. Continuous L-shaped
range: single-storey, 3-bay smithy; single-storey, single-bay byre; set-back,
2-storey dovecote; and, at right-angles to north, a single-storey, 3-bay byre.
Smithy has central boarded door with fire-insurance mark and retains forge and
bellows. Byre has Dutch door and steeper-pitched roof. Dovecote: ground floor
has byre with Dutch door and external stone staircase to first-floor boarded
door; first floor has blocked breather, alighting band with entry holes near
eaves, low-pitched pyramidal roof above projecting eaves band, octagonal glover
ofnwood with conical cap and weather vane; stone-lined interior with nesting
boxes. Byre range attached to north of dovecote has Dutch doors.
Detached range of farmbuildings to east of dovecote not of special interest.
