C16-C17 timber-framed and plastered building built on an L shaped plan with
wings extending to the north and west. Two storeys. Three window range on
the front, mainly casements with glazing bars. The ground storey has 2 small
canted bays with double-hung sash windows. Roof tiled, hipped, with an internal
original chimney stack with diagonal shafts. (Rebuilt or restored).
The north room on the ground storey (known as Cromwell Room) has moulded ceiling
beams and joists and a series of early C17 wall paintings. (RCHM 12).
