House, now subdivided into 2 properties. C17 origins, substantially extended
and altered C19. Original structure is timber framed, later additions in
yellow brick. The Manor house, including original structure, has colourwashed
roughcast render, Manzie, consisting of C19 wing, is entirely of brick. Clay
tile roofs. Complex plan, Manor House roughly U-shaped, Manzie an L-plan
block to N. 2 storeys. S elevation (Manor House): original part consists of
central block and small 2-storeyed projecting gables to each end. To LH is
large C19 projecting gable. RH end also altered and slightly extended C19.
Variety of windows, some sashes to first floor. 2 French windows to main
block, RH one with C20 porch. 3 red brick ridge stacks, off-centre one fairly
substantial. Interior: SE ground floor room has C19 carved wood fire-surround
with atlantes supporting ornate mantelshelf in heavy Rococo style.
