C15 origins, altered and extended in late C16, and C17 and altered in C18. Rendered;
coursed rubble porch. Irregular roof of pantiles and double Roman tiles. Large
rendered stacks, one lateral. U-plan.
Main building (east). Two storeys 3 glazing bar sash windows plus 3-light casement to
right of porch (4-lights on ground floor with ovolo moulded mullions). Projecting
gabled, 2 storey porch; 2-centred arch freetone doorway with hollow and ogee
moulding. To left of porch is 6-panel door with overlight under triangular hood on
carved brackets.
South elevation. Four glazing bar sash windows. Modern projecting porch.
Interior.
Two-bay open, formerly with 3 tiers of windbraces. Three-bay lower end (cross entry
and kitchen) with one tier of windbraces. Four raised cruck trusses with tenoned
cambered collars. Possible smoke bay in kitchen.
Parlour to south in late C16 wing. Possible service wing to north, now modernised.
Hall. Partially blocked moulded archway immediate opposite porch. Blocked windows,
one is mid-C17, with open scroll catches. Kitchen fireplace at north end.
South wing. East room (Parlour) is panelled with small square panels. Ogee moulded
cornice. Panelled door in north-west corner. Chamfered beams with run-out stops.
Other rooms in south wing have stop-chamfered beams.
Newel stair in re-entrant angle between east and south wings.
First floor south wing. West room is panelled with small square panels, elaborate
cornice. Small door in south-east corner has cockshead hinges. Four-light,
chamfered, mullion and transom window (formerly 5-light). Panelled door in 4-centred
arch opening.
