Barn with attached shelter shed and stable. Barn possibly of C15/C16 origin,
stable probably C17 with later additions and alterations. Limestone rubble,
barn has pantiled roof with raised coped verges to right gable end, C20
alterations in blockwork to rear of stable, otherwise same materials, U-plan
forming farm yard, barn has stable wing to front left and shelter sheds to front
right. Barn has central cart entry with weathered buttress to right, lean-to
with door to left and door to right; rear of barn has projecting cart entry with
hipped roof and large limestone quoins, weathered buttress to left and timber
lintel remaining from former opening, lean-to set in angle with stable block to
right, has small opening with timber lintel; attached to right, C20 lean-to in
blockwork, replacing former rear bays of stable. Right return of barn shows
line of roof raising, C20 lean-to; left return of barn also has line of former
stable at gable end. Stable attached to front left has roof extended over
lean-to to each side, gable end has window opening and door, both with timber
lintel, small addition attached to inner side. Single storey shelter shed
attached to front right has 3 bays open to left, 2 doors and 2-light casement to
right on inner side, blank gable end, 2-light C20 window and door on outer side.
Interior of barn has 6-bay roof, principal rafters, collars, 2 rows of purlins,
roof level raised above trusses, some later timbers and one C20 truss, later cart
entry with steel lintel in right return gable end. Interior of stable has
2 bays of roof remaining, principal rafters, 2 rows of purlins, ridge purlin and
plated yoke. Claverham Court Farmhouse (q.v.) was the court house for one of
the four tithings of Yatton, Claverham, Wick, Cleeve and Yatton; main barn range
