Two lodge houses, flanking quadrant walls and gates, gate piers and railings
between. Early - mid C19; gates and gate piers mid - late C19. Coursed
squared rubble flanking walls which are swept up to 2 identical lodges: ashlar
with slate roofs; single storey, and attic to rear; the front elevation is
comprised of end quoins, a Venetian window with blocked outer lights, and a
pediment bearing the ducal badge and coronet in the tympanum. To the roadside
of the lodges are screen walls with a parapet; 2 keyed circular windows flank a
doorway which has a Gibbs surround and is surmounted by a segmental pediment with
the ducal coronet in the tympanum. 2 ashlar gate piers with niches, cornice and
iron lanterns on a base. Cast iron gates with ducal badge (portcullis) and
coronets.
