Single storey ranges, barn and covered way enclosing four sides of Court Yard at Stable Court to Badminton House
G.V.
II*
Stables, including barns and blacksmith's shop. Dated "1878" on south-east outer gable, probably by T.H. Wyatt. Large quadrangle. Coursed rubble with freestone dressings; Cotswold stone slate roofs. Each range has a single storey and a loft over: central advanced gabled section with panelled doors under overlights and in bolection moulded surrounds (similar doors elsewhere); over the doors are keyed circular windows in the north and south gables and the ducal arms in the east gable. Glazing bar sash windows in plain stone surrounds and under relieving arches.
South range: eleven bays, doors to right and second bay from left. East range: seven bays with covered way to coach house (q.v.) at left. North range: eleven bays, doors to left and second bay from right.
West range: two storey barn with gabled pigeon loft surmounted by an open octagonal lantern in the centre; three doors; lean-to pentice on chamfered wooden piers; two-light casement windows in outer elevation; covered way to Shop Lane to left, arched entrance with moulded archivolt, keystone and imposts. Projecting from the west elevation of the west range is a covered way which links a further barn with a hipped roof to the stable block.
